We chose these destinations because of the following criteria :
1/ The distances:
Versailles is a 30 minutes drive from Paris
Fontainebleau, Vaux le Vicomte, Chartres and Giverny are only an hour drive from Paris.
2/ Their importance:
Versailles :

The Chateau of Versailles represents the Golden Age of French royalty and remained the seat of government as well as the political center of France from 1682 to 1789.
The prestigious domain is now on the UNESCO list of the world's heritage sites.
Giverny :

Giverny is a small village on the way to Normandy beaches. It became known thanks to Painter Claude Monet's house.
Monet lived in Giverny from 1883 until 1926. You will visit his house, his workshop and his garden which is said to be one of the nicest in France.
Fontainebleau :

Fontainebleau basically owes its fame to the castle and the park named on UNESCO's world heritage list. The Palais de Fontainebleau owes its origin to royalty's passion for hunting and collecting works of art.
This palace has an extremely different past , from last of the Capetians up to Napoleon III.
Barbizon :

This village is located in the forest of Fontainebleau, and, is where Impressionist painting was born in the beginning of the 19
th century. (Theodore Rousseau 1812/1867; Jean-François Millet 1814 / 1875 ..).
Vaux le Vicomte :

This chateau is a 30 minute drive from Fontainebleau , it was built in 1656 by Nicolas Fouquet the superintendent of finances under Mazarin. It was designed by the architects who built the Château de Versailles a few years later (1682 ), Architect Louis Le Vau, Landscape architect and Gardener André Le Notre, and Decorator Charles le Brun .

Chartres :
It has been the town of destiny since the beginning of the pagan cult. In the 4
th century Chartres was turned into a Christian cult by the
first evangelist .
The Cathedral of Notre Dame was erected by Bishop Fulbert in the 11th and 12th century .
